Each week our district puts out a STEAM Issue which is broken down into K-2, 3-5 and 6-8 sections. Each issue contains a theme with ideas and activities for Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science. This week’s is all about wind energy. I have attached a PDF on my web page so you can see the current issue. Next week I will be adding this to the choice board. Please contact me with any questions. Have fun!

Good Morning Grade 2/3,

Today is April 22, 2020. How are you this morning? Today is Earth Day. Can you believe it snowed last night? I was pretty surprised when I looked out my window this morning and saw snow on the ground. Henry and I have been trying to play outside as much as we can when it is nice out. I hope you have been enjoying the nice weather too. We have also been talking a lot with family and friends. Have you been able to talk to your family and friends? How many words can you make with EARTH DAY? I was able to make “are” quickly. What other words can you make?

Have a wonderful day and remember to be kind.

Spring Things Riddles

You can tell we’re back

when you hear us sing.

We build our nests

as soon as it’s spring.

Who’s back? _________

For now we’re buds

but soon we’ll be open.

We’ll soak up some water-

At least that’s what we’re hoping.

What are we?  ____________

We cannot fly all by ourselves.

We need some windy weather.

You just hold us by our long, white strings.

We swoop and soar together.

What are we?  ___________

Good Morning Grade 2/3,

How are you this morning? I am good. Today is Thursday, April 9th, 2020. What are your plans for the day? Henry and I are going to read some stories, play with his toys and do a craft. Yesterday, Henry and I painted pictures of Easter Eggs. Henry wanted to paint with his paint brushes and I used pom poms to make dots. They turned out very nice! I hope you are enjoying the activities that I put on your choice board. I know I liked thinking up all the ideas for the choice board. I am getting one ready for next week and I think you will have fun doing the activities on it as well. Have any of you read a great book?

I hope you have a great Easter Weekend!

Have a wonderful day and remember to be kind.
